This morning, the S&P 500 e-mini futures are trading higher by 2.50 points to 1357.50 per contract. The move higher in the stock market indexes are once again coming on the back of the falling US Dollar Index. If you can believe it or not, the US Dollar Index is once again trading lower this morning. This is a new three year low for the US Dollar Index. Since June 7, 2010, the US Dollar Index has declined lower by 17.0 percent. It is still amazing that the politicians in charge will not admit that the weaker dollar is the reason for the high gasoline prices in the United States. Gold, and silver continue to make new highs as the US Dollar Index declines into it’s March 2008 lows. As long as these central banks continue to create money at an alarming rate the precious metals can trade higher.
