Is Obama a Magician? How else can he do all these tricks?

He’s going to cut taxes on 95% of working families even though 40% don’t pay – abracadabra, it’s called a "refundable tax credit" – also known as welfare!
For his next trick, he’s going to jumpstart the economy by raising taxes on businesses, and will somehow encourage them to create more jobs with less money!
Then, he’s going to re-regulate the economy! All those new rules will have no adverse affect, either! Isn’t that amazing!
Then, he’s going to create a government health plan that will be as effective as (cough) medicare!
And, for his best trick, he’s going to create that enormous gov’t health program, spend billions to transform our energy economy, increase financial assistance for other countries like Israel, invest in infrastructure, increase education spending, provide job training assistance and NOT RAISE TAXES! No, he’ll give 95 out of 100 of us a tax cut – in the middle of a financial crisis – and will do this while LOWERING THE DEFICIT!! What a great magic wand he has!
He’s also going to cut special interests while funding special interests like solar, biofuel, tort lawyers, unions, etc.! ABRACADABRA!

Like John Wayne said in The Robe, "Surely this man is the son of God!"

Big tip of the hat to the Wall Street Journal http://online.wsj.com/article/SB122360618747721991.html#

he isn’t a magician he is ahead in polls because republicans picked the worst possible person to run against him. Americans are looking for any reason not to elect the guy they know will raise their taxes, the socialist that will ruin health care and further deepen the economic crisis with higher taxes unemployment and and bad minimum wage (inflation) policy. The other side hasn’t given them much to work with though.

WHILE campaigning in public for a speedy withdrawal of US troops from Iraq, Sen. Barack Obama has tried in private to persuade Iraqi leaders to delay an agreement on a draw-down of the American military presence.

According to Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari, Obama made his demand for delay a key theme of his discussions with Iraqi leaders in Baghdad in July.

"He asked why we were not prepared to delay an agreement until after the US elections and the formation of a new administration in Washington," Zebari said in an interview.

Obama insisted that Congress should be involved in negotiations on the status of US troops – and that it was in the interests of both sides not to have an agreement negotiated by the Bush administration in its "state of weakness and political confusion."

"However, as an Iraqi, I prefer to have a security agreement that regulates the activities of foreign troops, rather than keeping the matter open." Zebari says.

Though Obama claims the US presence is "illegal," he suddenly remembered that Americans troops were in Iraq within the legal framework of a UN mandate. His advice was that, rather than reach an accord with the "weakened Bush administration," Iraq should seek an extension of the UN mandate.

While in Iraq, Obama also tried to persuade the US commanders, including Gen. David Petraeus, to suggest a "realistic withdrawal date." They declined.

Obama has made many contradictory statements with regard to Iraq. His latest position is that US combat troops should be out by 2010. Yet his effort to delay an agreement would make that withdrawal deadline impossible to meet.

Supposing he wins, Obama’s administration wouldn’t be fully operational before February – and naming a new ambassador to Baghdad and forming a new negotiation team might take longer still.

By then, Iraq will be in the throes of its own campaign season. Judging by the past two elections, forming a new coalition government may then take three months. So the Iraqi negotiating team might not be in place until next June.

Then, judging by how long the current talks have taken, restarting the process from scratch would leave the two sides needing at least six months to come up with a draft accord. That puts us at May 2010 for when the draft might be submitted to the Iraqi parliament – which might well need another six months to pass it into law.

Its amazing how dumb people are, Did anyone have history in high school because obviously college wasn’t an option?!?
Do you think everyone should have health care and a college education? I know canada does and england and so does the rest of the developed countries of the world but o no not the great America…. Do you see were deregulation has gotten us? Do you live in america right now? Do you see the stock market? If it crashes will it be the democrats fault right? O no but the Republicans are running the office at this moment!! Did you know that the U.S. spend 600 billion a year on the military? You ever heard of the Militay-Industrial complex the Eisenhower warned America about… Now how about we take that 600 billion and spend it on health care, education and the working-class!!! Maybe if Bush had these ideas the economy would be booming right now!!!

The both of them are promising things that would be stretch for the us right now, but those things dont seem to bad to down the line to work towards right. Back to the magician thing you got to admit mccain resembles Lord voldermort from Harry Potter though.

How can you have not noticed that every time a "Trickle Downer" slashes taxes paid by the rich, we LOSE jobs, are left with lower-paying jobs, AND the tax burden on the middle class and poor is raised?

The "If rich people don’t pay taxes they’ll create jobs" line is clearly a big fat lie. It’s not happened these last 28 years; it’s not going to suddenlty work that way now.

Bush thought he was magical: Slash taxes AND start wars we can’t afford.

McCain agrees with him and will continue the policies that have put us in crushing debt we may never dig our way out of.

Uh, deregulation was clearly wrong. If you allow theives to steal everyone else’s money, they will.

Medicare, before it was gutted by Bush, was very effective. It could have been made both more effective and MUCH cheaper if he’d gone with the rational plans Democrats wanted (cut out the Plans taking most of the money spent; buying drugs in bulk to cut costs).

He’s going to roll back Bush’s tax cuts to the rich, or haven’t you heard?

Solar energy and unions are in the best interests of the vast majority of Americans. Someone’s who sole goal in life is to further enrich oil companies and banks, at everyone else’s expense, is the one who support "special interests" — I don’t consider helping the middle class and majority of citizens to be supporting sepecial interests.

I don’t care what the Right Wing Journal says.

I think Warren Buffett (one of Obama’s major advisors on his economic plan) knows what he’s talking about. He agrees with Obama and disagrees with McBush.
